South Downs National Park
The South Downs National Park not only provides some of the most stunning driving roads and scenery in the region, but has been home to the world-famous Goodwood Motor Circuit since it was officially opened in 1948.
It all began when Freddie March, the 9th Duke and renowned amateur racing driver, took the track by storm in a Bristol 400, cheered on by an ardent crowd of some 15,000 spectators. This was the opening of Britains first professional post-war motor-racing event.
Since 1948 Goodwood motoring events have gained worldwide recognition and are by far the highlight of the motoring calendar.
Rolls Royce Motor cars established their award winning manufacturing facility and opened its doors on 1 January 2003. The impeccable notoriety of this brand has further routed the South Downs National Park as the home of quality motoring.
